Who We Are…

A website based medium with the purpose to educate and reconnect those who have lost Indigenous identity through the way they were raised, how they look, or historical issues.

More about me!

Hi! My name is Mackenzie St.Amant, I am 19 years old and I am a part of Wahnapitae First Nation. I am currently attending Carleton University for a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice: Law. I have a significant pull towards learning and teaching Indigenous culture and I am hoping this website encompasses all of my knowledge in a beneficial way.

P.S. There is also a small section speaking on hoop dancing and Wahnapitae First Nation…

History Page:

Under this section of the website, settler colonization, residential schools, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada is discussed. All of which factor in identifying why there has been a disconnection from Indigeneity and how we can learn to reconnect.

Reconnection Page:

Under this page, different teachings and practices are analyzed and taught. This is where we can find ways to become reconnected to culture. Each of the practices assist in relearning Indigenous culture with also giving tips on how to use these in practice.

Artwork Page:

In this section, different forms of Indigenous artwork are shown and analyzed. Some of my own artwork as well as other Indigenous peoples. This is to promote Indigenous artists as well as to show that art is another form of reconnection. Art is beautiful and important to continue a creative world. Indigenous art encompasses this.

Links Page:

This page gives access to numerous different resources that can either assist in reconnection, promote events, identify elders or reservations, help with learning different teachings further, etc.
